The Music Imbizo 2026 Showcases: submissions open

The Music Imbizo has opened submissions for live showcase performances at The Music Imbizo 2026 — a music business conference in Durban featuring showcases, a film festival, workshops, and industry networking.

Key dates

  • Showcase dates: Wed 26 Aug – Sat 29 Aug 2026
  • Submissions close: 15 February 2026

Who can apply

  • All genres (local + international artists and groups)
  • Original music only, performed live

What selected artists receive (organiser-stated)

  • R10,000 (organiser-stated per diem/fee)
  • Outside eThekwini: R2,000 additional allowance + 2 nights accommodation
  • Production + logistics support: sound/lights + basic shared backline, plus performance-related ground transport/airport transfers
  • Access + visibility: full passes to Imbizo activities and promotion across organiser/partner platforms

Note: Terms can change — always confirm the latest details on the official submission page.

Before you submit: keep it showcase-ready

  • Bring a tight setlist and one strong live video link.
  • Keep your credits + splits accurate and consistent everywhere (EPK, DSP profiles, socials).
  • Have a simple tech one-pager (basic stage plot/input list) that works with shared backline.

Why this matters (SA + Africa-based artists)

Showcases can open doors beyond the stage — the follow-up meetings are where gigs, partnerships, and sync conversations often begin. Being organised makes it easier for opportunities to move.
