What to submit before 15 Feb 2026
If you’re running (or partnering with) a registered NPO or NPC in eThekwini, there’s an open Arts & Culture Grant-in-Aid (GIA) call supporting arts and cultural programmes in the municipality’s 2025/26 cycle.
Closing date: 15 February 2026 (Music In Africa lists 23:59). The call indicates funding is intended for activities scheduled April–June 2026.
Who this call is for
The call targets registered NPOs/NPCs operating in the performing arts and cultural sector within eThekwini Municipality.
If you’re an artist, producer, choir, band, or collective, you may not be the applicant entity — but you can still be part of an eligible organisation’s programme (festivals, community programmes, training, touring/showcases, youth development). The key is to show public value: skills development, audience growth, education, social cohesion, and/or local economic impact.
What to submit
Most applications don’t fail on creativity — they fail on compliance. Requirements listed include:
- Completed application form
- Valid tax clearance certificate
- Latest annual financial statements
- Certified registration certificate
- Certified ID copies for all directors (≤ 3 months old)
- Organisational profile
- Project plan / business plan
- Two reference letters from the creative sector (≤ 6 months old)
- Affidavit confirming no directors are employed by eThekwini Municipality or any other government department
- Proof of physical address and banking/account proof
- Proof of registration on the eThekwini Supplier Database and the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
Practical tip: align your budget, timeline, and deliverables tightly to the April–June 2026 activity window, and make your reporting plan (attendance, outputs, documentation) easy to audit.

Music In Africa publishes the email submission addresses, and states late submissions won’t be accepted and that if you don’t receive feedback within 30 days after closing, you should regard the application as unsuccessful.
