Bongani Mathenjwa, who joined Sheer Publishing 2007, has been recently promoted to Senior Copyright Administrator.
Mr. B as his affectionately known administrates the copyright matters of all international catalogues including Kobalt Music Publishing, Westbury Music Publishing and Mushroom Music Publishing just to name a few. Bongani, a former musician has been in the music industry in various aspects for a long time.
Bongani obtained a national certificate in Live Sound and Technical Production with The South African Roadies Association (SARA) and went on to work with Gearhouse as a trainee technician. With his skills levels Bongani worked on some of South Africa’s biggest live concerts such as Luther Vandross, Boys II Men and Benjamin Dube Live Recording to mention a few. Bongani went on to become a Public Relations Officer with TMusicman, successfully running PR campaigns for events like, Tikwe Jazz Festival in Virginia, Maphungubwe Jazz Festival in Polokwane, Mpumalanga Jazz Festival in Nelspruit, Secunda Jazz and Arts and Culture Festival in Secunda, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz.
Throughout his career Bongani has always been involved with skills workshops within the music industry having also worked with MIDI Trust as a workshop coordinator. He has also been applying his music training background to train staff on all industry related matters and providing necessary support to clients over and above the publishing matters.
