On Saturday, 21 June—World Music Day—Downtown Music Publishing Africa joined the 26th TGMA National Music Summit at the British Council Ghana. Our Head of A&R, Kefilwe Molefe, led a hands-on workshop on registering works, tracking royalties, managing rights, and negotiating sync deals.
Emerging and established artists, songwriters, and producers packed the room to gain practical tools and clear action plans to protect their catalogues and maximise earnings on a global stage.
“Our mission is to equip African creators with the tools to own their music and their futures,” Molefe said, highlighting the need for transparency and fair pay in today’s industry.
This workshop is part of Downtown Africa’s commitment to bridge the gap between artistic brilliance and business mastery. Huge thanks to TGMA, the British Council, and every creator who came ready to learn, connect, and rise together.
