Recognizing the vital role of music in films, Sheer teamed up with the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) to organize an engaging master class in 2023. This session underscored the significance of music in films while equipping filmmakers and producers with fundamental insights into music rights. These efforts aimed to bridge the knowledge gap and empower filmmakers with essential knowledge on licensing, fostering a more harmonious relationship between music and film.
Furthering their educational endeavours, Sheer Publishing Africa and partners are gearing up to conduct workshops with key partners in 2024. These workshops aim to empower and educate the next generation of filmmakers, providing them with the necessary tools to navigate the intricate landscape of music licensing. By imparting knowledge and skills, these initiatives seek to cultivate a more informed and empowered community of creatives.
In a significant event in November, Africa’s largest music conference took place in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Sheer Publishing Africa took centre stage by hosting a workshop during this conference. The workshop provided a platform for attendees to engage with industry-leading professionals on various facets of the music industry, including music production, digital music distribution, and the nuances of the publishing business.
